As per normal, its first in - first served, so it pays to be
in quick with your fees. We have no trouble filling the spaces with
enthusiastic club members (already have 5 confirmed). No tools are
required (although you can bring your own), and the club will provide
all materials, hooks, etc. for you to tie the flies. We have decided on
this occasion to run the course weekly to maintain a better continuity
throughout the programme. However, the course will be quite intense and
require practice at home for you to learn all the techniques.
The club has a number of very comprehensive fly tying videos
and these show a lot of the above methods in great detail, as well as
numerous books in the library.
The best way to learn is as with most things; practice,
practice and practice some more. The satisfaction in catching a
trout on your own creation makes it all worthwhile.
