ROTORUA TRIP REPORT
Hi folks, Just a little catch up on the trip this weekend.
First, a big thank you to a few people who helped make it a very good weekend. Sallie and Bridget were, as usual, very good hosts, providing a lovely place to stay and friendly and helpful advice on the fishing.

Certainly, their contribution was the a main factor to the success of the weekend. Next, Bert, who provided us with a great tour of the fish trap on the Ngongotaha, and other insights into fishing and trout. He certainly, has some interesting stories and information and went out of his way to pass on
local knowledge. Thanks heaps, Bert.

Now the fishing, all and all, a bit hard. we took 15 fish between 12 people but 2 people had the majority of those fish. The Ngongotaha has fish holding in most pools but they have their mouths closed. still there are some nice fish starting to spawn in the river.

I really enjoyed the trip and the company for the weekend was great. The old hands at fishing were only to happy to share their knowledge with the newer people and that made for a good experience for all.

Thanks to everyone.
Cheers, June

Sallie and Bridget are more than happy to see you and are willing to give
you a hand with casting practice and go fishing with you to get you started.
